Our expertly-delivered GWO Fire Awareness training course is aimed at personnel who work in the wind industry or related fields and will have their duties in a wind turbine environment. Usually, this means they will be in physical contact with a wind turbine or an offshore wind structure. The GWO Fire Awareness Refresher module covers the same content, duration and learning objectives as our standard fire awareness course, so it’s open to first-time delegates and refresher delegates. No matter your experience, you’re guaranteed to get a first-class education in offshore fire safety.
The GWO Fire Awareness course is presented by our in-house team of CWind Training instructors. All of our instructors have real-world experience in the offshore wind industry and are adept at providing fire safety to individual trainees and businesses across the world.

Summary:
The aim of the GWO Fire Awareness training course is to give trainees the basic knowledge and skills to prevent fires, make appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage the evacuation of personnel and ensure all are safely accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire. If the incident is judged to be safe enough, the delegates should be able to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic handheld fire fighting equipment.
The course is delivered over half a day, with segmented time slots to cover all of the essential elements of fire safety training. Sessions are delivered at our state-of-the-art training facilities throughout the year.
Pre-Requisites:
The GWO Fire Awareness course can be physically demanding and to participate you must be medically fit and capable of participating fully.
Other prerequisites:
- You must provide valid photographic ID such as a Passport or Driving Licence
- You must be 18+
- The course is run in English and as such you must have an appropriate level of fluency in order to participate

Equipment required:
You must be wearing trousers to participate in the practical element of our GWO Fire Awareness training course. Shorts are not permitted under any circumstances as they present a significant safety hazard.
